Completely oak barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc, in the style of the fashionable Californians who coined the term Fumé Blanc while in search of the ultimate, titillatingly, dry white elixir. A firm press of grapes for textural sauvage and phenolic grip, is followed by vinification at higher temperatures on gross solids for complexity and charm. Deeply oyster shelled bouquet, brimming with smoky florals, calico and bouquet garni, its juicily drying palate, resolving on a finish of crystaline jube, wet pebbles and savouriness of grilled smoky nuts.

A bouquet that bursts from the glass, beautiful lychee perfumes, white peaches, pears and fresh lime, a more ish honeydew sweetness, exceptional drive by virtue of such juicy acidity and judicious phenolic texture. Offering layers of complexity and marvelous length, the intensity builds along the entire palate, long after Ms Marli has played and departed.

Moss Wood enjoy the challenge of consistently producing the most substantial Semillon wine anywhere in Margaret River. The style has evolved since 1980 with the emphasis on achieving good depth of fruit flavour. Semillon grapes are painstakingly picked in three stages, green, medium and maximum ripeness, to enhance the complexity and achieve a highly engaging white wine experience.

For a wine that relies on lifted, zesty fruit notes as this one does, the final assembly sits very close to perfect. Ribbon Vale's fruit produces a different style to that grown at neighbouring Moss Wood. Sauvignon Blanc brings major aromaticness to the wine, the Semillon component contributes heightened flavour profiles. Ribbon Vale is vibrant and juicy, pristine and finer than most variants of the blend. Flavour builds in the glass before a finish that is refreshingly crisp with zippy acidity and an aftertaste that's long and fruitful, dry and lingering.

Moss Wood include parcels of exposed grapes with no leaves, others without leaf removal. The former is a more complex style of Chardonnay with accentuated malty and roasted nut characters while the latter tends to retain citrus, honeysuckle and peach blossom aromatics whilst looking prettier. Before assembling, there are extensive tastings to check on the choice of barrel and to compare the different levels of exposure. Vineyards selected for the Mesh Project are chosen for their potential to yield fruit that's most in keeping with their Eden Valley provenance, while exhibiting the potential to translate into wines of style. From vines up to sixty years of age, the viticultural parameters for each site focus on painstaking regimens, pruning, leaf retention and nutrition to further improve quality of fruit.

Her fruit is vinified to the same exacting standards, limited yields ensure that there's not much Mayford wine around to see the next vintage.

Marc Brédif can count on the finest harvests in Vouvray, twenty acres of the best vineyards, a canon of salubrious south facing vines, planted to unique chalk and silica clay soils known as Aubius. Many have been supplying Brédif for generations and are the source of Loire Valley's most memorable vintages. The great vineyards of Tarbourneau, Clos Chavin and Mailet yield a superior quality Chenin Blanc.
